$125.00

The Red Fancy Tiger Breeding Group is a prized variety among shrimp keepers for their stunning appearance and relative ease of care. Their vibrant red coloration, accentuated by bold black tiger stripes, makes them a standout addition to any aquarium, instantly catching the eye and adding a pop of color to planted tanks. These shrimp are particularly appealing to breeders due to their genetic stability, often producing offspring with consistent coloration and patterning. Additionally, their adaptability to a range of water conditions within the soft, slightly acidic spectrum allows for successful keeping in various setups, making them accessible to both novice and experienced shrimpkeepers alike.

Description

Red Fancy Tiger Breeding Group (2F+2M)

The Red Fancy Tiger Breeding Group is a selectively bred variety of Caridina originating from the popular Tiger Shrimp lineage.  Their bodies display a striking red base coloration with distinct black tiger stripes running horizontally across their carapace and abdomen. The intensity of the red coloration can vary from a deep crimson to a lighter orange-red, depending on genetics and environmental factors.

The shrimp’s body is semi-transparent, allowing for partial visibility of internal organs. They possess well-developed eyes on short stalks and long, slender antennae. Their rostrum is relatively short and slightly curved upward. The walking legs (pereopods) are translucent with a slight reddish tint, while the swimming legs (pleopods) are nearly transparent.

Males are generally smaller and less intensely colored than females. Mature females develop a more rounded abdomen to accommodate developing eggs.

Acclimating new shrimp before you put them in the new tank is essential. Wait until the TDS of your tank and the water they come shipped in are matched.
