Description

Metallic Snowflake Shrimp

The Metallic Snowflake Shrimp is a rare and visually stunning Caridina variety, admired for its shimmering metallic patterns and intricate snowflake-like markings. Its body features a deep, dark base color with vibrant metallic white speckles resembling falling snow, creating a striking and elegant appearance. The shimmering metallic sheen adds a layer of depth, making this shrimp a centerpiece in aquariums. Metallic Snowflake Shrimp are the result of meticulous selective breeding, making them a prized addition for advanced shrimp enthusiasts.

To keep Metallic Snowflake Shrimp healthy, aquarists must maintain highly stable and pristine water conditions. They thrive in soft, slightly acidic water, with a pH range of 5.5 to 6.2, a general hardness (GH) of 4-6, and carbonate hardness (KH) close to 0. The ideal temperature range is 68°F to 72°F (20°C to 22°C). A planted tank with soft substrate, low lighting, and plenty of moss or leaf litter is ideal for promoting biofilm growth and providing natural hiding spots.

Their diet should consist of high-quality shrimp-specific food, supplemented with blanched vegetables and protein-based treats. Mineral-rich food is particularly beneficial for maintaining their vibrant coloration. Due to their sensitivity, they are best kept in species-only tanks or with other peaceful Caridina varieties. Given their delicate nature, Metallic Snowflake Shrimp are best suited for advanced shrimp keepers capable of maintaining consistent water parameters and a stable environment.
